Aussies receive Cup, Phan Rang
Description
No. 2 Canberra Bomber Squadron RAAF received the Duke of Gloucester Cup at Phan Rang airbase South Vietnam 10 June 1967. The Cup was presented by the Minister for Air Mr Howson to Wing Commander Aronsen CO of No. 2 Squadron RAAF. The Cup is an annual award to the most proficient Squadron in the RAAF. No. 2 Squadron won the award for its performance in Malaysia in 1965-1966. Others present at the ceremony were Air Commodore John Lush of Canberra, Commander RAAF Vietnam, Air Commodore Gordon Steege of Sydney OC RAAF Butterworth and Colonel James Wilson Commander of the 35th Tactical Fighter Wing USAF.
