West Australian concert party DPR/TV/1054
Description
A concert party from Western Australia visited the Australian Task Force Base at Nui Dat on Tuesday 2 April(?) and got a rousing reception from off duty diggers at the base's open air theatre, Luscombe Bowl. Compere Tony Howes kicked the show off to a good start and was backed up by singers Helen McMillan, Gwendolene Allen and Eddie Storm, folk singers Kay Collyer and Jim Malcolm who will be married soon after returning to Australia and the band Peter Jupp, Brian Coupe and Graham Johnson. The party is spending 2 1/2 weeks in Vietnam entertaining allied troops. Sponsored by the Australian Forces Overseas Fund, all the entertainers come from the Perth area and all are making their first visit to South Vietnam.
