Annual Army Exercise DPR/TV/1514
The Army's Chief of the General Staff annual Exercise will be held in Canberra, ACT, this year, between 14th and 19th August 1972, at the Royal Military College, Duntroon. Announcing this today, the Minister for the Army, Mr Bob Katter, said the exercise would be conducted by the Chief of the General Staff, 231 Lieutenant General Sir Mervyn Francis Brogan, in the form of a symposium aimed at reviewing the position of the Army within the present peace-time environment in Australia and that other matters of professional interest would be discussed. The exercise would be attended by senior officers of the Australian Army and representatives from the other Services and Government Departments. Overseas visitors to the exercise would include officers from the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, the United States Army and United States Marine Corps.
