Description

Japanese propaganda film showing various scenes of captured US equipment and military installations on Bataan Peninsula, Philippines. Opening titles 1. ' Captured objects: airplanes four, tanks and armoured vehicles forty five, automobiles four thousand seven hundred and thirty six, artillery guns three hundred and ninety six, anti aircraft guns fifty eight, heavy and light machine guns two hundred and twenty, and pistols thirty three thousand six hundred'. 2. 'Prisoners of war fifty three thousand four hundred (including nine thousand five hundred and thirty three United States soldiers), abandoned bodies five thousand, hospitalised prisoners of war one thousand six hundred and seventy seven.' These scenes of captured equipment are edited to a dramatic orchestral soundtrack and make up the majority of the film. Change to scenes of US war graves with a Japanese voice over. Concludes with shots of Japanese bombers accompanied by a patriotic song. Scenes include: Japanese troops moving through wrecked buildings at the US Navy base Mariveles.
