Visit to New Guinea of the Minister for External Territories
Description
The Minister for External Territories, The Honourable Mr E J Ward Esq, MP, visited the Island from 17 April 1944 to 29 April 1944. He was acccompanied by his private secretary Mr J Donovan, the Secretary of the Department of External Territories, Mr J R Halligan, the Director of Research, Deparment of the Army, NX191031Lieutenant Colonel Alfred Austin Conlon and the Scientific Consultant to the Direcorate of Research VX94717 Colonel Roy J Wright. VX285 Major General Basil Moorhouse Morris, DSO, GOC Australian New Guinea Adminstrative Unit and ANGAU officers also accompanied the party.
