3rd Battalion in Korea, early shots DPR/S/1
Description
General coverage of 3 RAR in Kanp'a'ri area 1951. Shows troops moving up to take up defence positions supported by Centurion tanks of British 8th Hussars and New Zealand artillery. This film illustrates the geographic features of the Korean country, troops climbing hills, overlooking villages and rivers. There is a short sequence of a pay parade in the field. Colonel I B Ferguson MC DSO commanding officer of 3 RAR is featured. Troops erect barbed wire defences and trip flares. 34 (VX20321, VX80578) Lieutenant General Sir Horace Clement Hugh Robertson visits Major General Blackstear M Bryan, Commander 24th US Infantry Division, during a routine visit to the 28th Commonwealth Brigade.
