Description

Interviews with four 1914-1918 war veterans for the O-10 TV series Australians at war. The veterans in order of appearance are Mr Jack Graham 6 Light Regiment, Mr Jim Martin, 6 Light Horse Regiment, Major George Burrows 5 Battalion and Mr Jack Tarrant. Mr Graham speaks on the hardships of life in the desert and fighting in the Jordan Valley. Mr Martin describes results of shelling trenches at Beersheba. Major Burrows tells how Baron von Richthofen met his death. Mr Tarrant tells why he enlisted and describes the hardships at Gallipoli due to extremes of weather, flies, poor food and shortage of water. He speaks of landing in France and being wounded at Pozieres and Flers.
