Malaria the recurring enemy
Description
Malaria has again become a major world health problem. Strains of Malaria parasite have been resistant to drugs and species of Anopheles mosquito have developed a tolerance for insecticides. Although research is being carried out aimed at defeating the disease, it still poses a threat to some areas of Australia. Malaria inflicted more casualties on soldiers in the Pacific in the Second World War than the enemy. Historical footage of soldiers in New Guinea.
