DDL model unveiled
Description
RAN Captain and Commodore examining a model of the Australian designed DDL (Light) frigate. The DDL project was approved in 1972 but latter cancelled in August 1973 after a government review found it would be too expensive. The cancellation led to the purchase of US FFG-7 Oliver Hazard Perry class guided missile frigates which were known in Australian service as the Adelaide class .
