Vung Tau, South Vietnam, 1970-04. During his trip to South Vietnam, the Minister for External Affairs, Mr William McMahon, visited the Peter Badcoe Club which is located at the 1st Australian Logistic Support Group (1ALSG) base. The club, with its various recreational facilities, swimming pool and beach, is a popular spot with Australian soldiers in Vietnam. The Minister was escorted by the Commanding Officer 1ALSG, Colonel M. Simkin, of Red Hill, ACT (left), and the Officer Commanding, Amenities Unit, Vung Tau, Major L. Daniels of Jolimont, Perth, WA (right).
