Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. c. 31 May 1915. A portion of a Turkish trench near the head of Monash Valley, opposite Pope's Hill, in the vicinity of which the Turks in this area were said to have had their Headquarters. Major Swannell was killed near here.
