Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. 1915. No. 2 Post was opposite one of the boats of the 7th Battalion stranded on the left of the beach. Oars and boats' timbers were used as props for the dugouts. The man standing beside the dugout is probably Phillip (Peter) Schuler the correspondent for the Melbourne Age.
