Description

Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. June 1915. Signallers of the 1st Australian Division building Watson's Pier at Anzac. Even before it was completed the pier was a great resort for bathers. The pile driver was a dud 8 inch shell from the German cruiser Goeben.
