Description
Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. October 1915. Our underground firing line dug by the 3rd Infantry Brigade at Anzac. This style of trench was originally invented by Captain Clougston for Brigadier-General MacLagan who wanted overhead cover for his men without any timber being available. In the end a system of them extended along the whole front of the 1st Australian Division.
