Description

At Sea, Turkey. July 1915. The latest class, at that time, of monitors, which, with other warships, began to reappear off Anzac, Gallipoli Peninsula. These vessels were specially built with blister sides to protect the main part of the structure against the shock and destructive effects of torpedo explosion. They were practically floating platforms for two large American guns with a 14.5 calibre. This vessel is the HMS Abercrombie.
