Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. September 1915. View of Chunuk Bair, in the background, and the farm below it which was ineffectively attacked by Baldwin's British Brigade on 9 August 1915. The New Zealand camp is a little to the right but not within the picture. The sandy appearance of Chunuk Bair was due to the Turkish trench digging on the summit, and to the shells from our guns.
