Description

At Sea, Turkey. c. 6 October 1915. The Marsden, one of the tugs which served Anzac, was stranded during the first rough weather experienced by the Australians on Gallipoli Peninsula. The vessel became a target for Turkish gunners. The three members of the crew, who lived near the wreck for some weeks in the hope of getting her off, are shown here. Their's was the only civilian dress to be seen at Anzac.
