Description

It was known that the Turks were bringing up very heavy guns, after the defeat of Serbia. For a month the force at Anzac was engaged constructing a system of secure dugouts, the result being almost perfect protection against heavy shells. This hill, Cheshire Ridge, was completely tunnelled through in December 1915.
