Description

Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. November 1915. The Shrapnel Gully cemetery, seen from the Indian camp. The men paid very great attention to this and the other cemeteries during the last few days of the occupation. The Indian in the foreground is loading his mules within full view of the Turks, 1200 yards away. The enemy fire was only kept down by our superior sniping. The Turks sniped down the valley.
