There was a ferry across the Suez Canal at Ismailia. The Australians built a bridge here in the winter of 1914-1915, and it was one of the chief posts along the canal and the headquarters of the 2nd Division. This year the garrison line was built miles out in the desert. The floating bridge is here shown closed.
