At Sea. November 1914. HMS Hampshire. Her principle in escorting us (HMT Orvieto) was quite different from that of the Minotaur. The Minotaur kept the escort far away from us, the Hampshire was often right in amongst us. All day long she kept two men (changed every hour) standing on the little wireless yard at the very top of the foremast. They can just be seen.
