Meeting in the Suez Canal at Port Said was really the first place where we all saw the other transports at close range. They lined up on either side of the harbour and on the evening after we arrived, we in the HMT Orvieto and the New Zealand transports steamed down this lane and out to our last port, amidst tremendous cheering.
