Description

Shell holes near Turkish gun positions. An unidentified member of the Australian Historical Mission is standing in one of the shell holes, on the ground nearby is part of a shell, which was probably placed there by one of the members of the mission. One of a series of photographs taken on the Gallipoli Peninsula under the direction of Captain C E W Bean of the Australian Historical Mission, during the months of February and March, 1919.
