Description

The grave of Colonel Richard Linton, Commanding 6th Australian Infantry Brigade, of Middle Brighton Vic, who died of shock and exposure at sea on 2 September 1915, after the torpedoing and sinking of HMT Southland. One of a series of photographs taken on the Gallipoli Peninsula under the direction of Captain C E W Bean of the Australian Historical Mission, during the months of February and March, 1919.
