Description
The old gun position into which Lieutenant Robert Murdoch Finlayson Hooper of the 5th Battalion, 2nd Australian Infantry Brigade, penetrated on the first day, 25 April 1915, on the extreme southern end of Pine Ridge. Lieutenant Hooper of Albert Park Vic later became Captain and was killed in action on 10 August 1915. One of a series of photographs taken on the Gallipoli Peninsula under the direction of Captain C E W Bean of the Australian Historical Mission, during the months of February and March, 1919.
