English dugouts which have been dug into the rock face on the side of the hill at Gully Ravine. A member of the Australian Historical Mission is mounted on his horse in the foreground, two other horses are grazing nearby. One of a series of photographs taken on the Gallipoli Peninsula under the direction of Captain C E W Bean of the Australian Historical Mission, during the months of February and March, 1919.
