Description
South Vietnam. 1967-12. The opening of additional classrooms at Baria High School, Phuoc Tuy Province, ensures secondary education for about 300 Vietnamese students who would otherwise be denied the opportunity. The project was sponsored by Australian Civil Affairs troops of the Task Force in Nui Dat. Two leading figures at the ceremony were the President of Phuoc Tuy Parents' and Teachers' Association, Mr Thrang (second left), and the Commanding Officer of the 1st Civil Affairs Unit, Lieutenant-Colonel John McDonagh of Canberra, ACT.
