Studio portrait of 231 Private (Pte) John Arthur Myors, 24th Battalion from Savernake, NSW. A 19 year old labourer prior to enlisting on 15 March 1915, he embarked for overseas with A Company from Melbourne on 10 May 1915 aboard HMAT Euripides. The 24th Battalion went ashore at Gallipoli on 4 September 1915 and saw heavy fighting at Lone Pine and then in March 1916 they proceeded to France. Pte Myors embarked for return to Australia on 21 March 1919.
