Description

Studio portrait of 1904A Private (Pte) Selwyn Kemp Skipworth, 34th Battalion from Perth, Western Australia. A 24 year old farmer prior to enlistment on 29 March 1916, he embarked for overseas with the 2nd Reinforcements of the 44th Battalion from Fremantle, Western Australia on 9 August 1916 aboard HMAT Miltiades. He died of 24 July 1917 at the 2nd Australian Casualty Clearing Station from wounds received near Messines, Belgium. Pte Skipworth is buried in the Trois-Arbres Cemetery, Steenwerck, France.
