Studio portrait of 2319 Private Benjamin Stewart, 22nd Battalion from Collingwood, Victoria. A 37 year old printer prior to enlistment on 12 July 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 4th Reinforcements from Melbourne on 27 September 1915 aboard HMAT Hororata. He died on 9 August 1916 of wounds received near Pozieres, France and is buried in the Etaples Military Cemetery, France.
