Description

Studio portrait of 963 Private (Pte) Kintore Albany Hoban, 32nd Battalion from Broome Hill, Western Australia. A 25 year old porter prior to enlisting on 26 July 1915, he embarked for overseas with C Company from Adelaide on 18 November 1915 aboard HMAT Geelong (A2). Following further training in Egypt he went with the 32nd Battalion to France where he was wounded in action near Montauban. Pte Hoban died of his wounds on 24 November 1916 and is buried in the Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L'Abbe, France.
