Studio portrait of 1972 Private (Pte) David John Tait, A Company, 3rd Reinforcements, 22nd Battalion, of Ballarat, Vic. Pte Tait enlisted on 8 June 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Anchises on 26 August 1915. He was killed in action on 5 August 1916 in Pozieres, France. Prior to his enlistment he served with the 71st City of Ballarat Regiment, including six months as a guard at the Cordite Factory for the regiment.
