Studio portrait of Captain Rupert Howard Henderson, 7th Battalion from Hawthorn, Victoria. A 22 year old Estate Agent prior to being appointed an officer in the AIF in September 1914, he embarked for overseas with B Company from Melbourne aboard HMAT Hororata (A20) on 19 October 1914. He was killed in action at Gallipoli on 8 May 1915 and is buried in the Redoubt Cemetery, Helles, Gallipoli, Turkey.
