Nieuport, Belgium. c. 1916. Gunners Thomas Charles Richmond Baker and Harrington of the 16th Battery, Field Artillery, AIF, relaxing in a dugout. Gunner Baker was later awarded a Military Medal (MM) and Bar and transferred to the Australian Flying Corps, serving with No 4 Squadron. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC). Lt Baker was killed in action on 4 November 1918. (Donor Mrs A. Baker)
