Description

Four members of the 8th Australian Light Horse Regiment. Identified left to right: Major (later Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col)) Archibald McGibbon McLaurin, Lieutenant (later Captain (Capt)) Thomas Sydney Austin, Capt Mervyn Bournes Higgins of Malvern, Vic and Sergeant (later Second Lieutenant (2nd Lt)) Charles Clifford Denham St Pinnock. Lt Col McLaurin died of pneumonia on 23 November 1918, Capt Higgins was killed in action on 23 December 1916 and 2nd Lt St Pinnock was later transferred to the 57th Battalion and was killed in action in France on 19 August 1916.
