English Channel. 25 April 1917. The scene on the deck of the troop transport ship Ballarat after being torpedoed. The British ship was carrying 1600 AIF reinforcements from Australia. The troops were taken off in boats with the ship sinking some hours later. (Donor A.W. Bazley)
