Studio portrait of 2382 Private (Pte) Allan William Richards, 35th Battalion. A clerk from Newcastle, NSW prior to enlistment, Pte Richards embarked with the 4th Reinforcements from Sydney on HMAT Borda on 17 October 1916. After serving on the Western Front, he returned to Australia on 4 July 1919.
