Studio portrait of Sergeant William George Blaskett, 48th Battalion of Bowden, SA (originally of Folkestone, England). On 23 February 1917 he was promoted to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. On 11 April 1917, he was killed in action, aged 21, at Bullecourt, France. His parents subsequently named their house in Adelaide 'Bullecourt'.
