3/141 Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) J Ochiltree (right), with headphones around his neck, Commanding Officer, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), and 2/3983 Lance Corporal (LCpl) E S 'Snowy' Bryant, of Lismore, NSW, consult their maps while discussing the results of a patrol that LCpl Bryant's section has just completed. Lt Col Ochiltree was later awarded the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) Military Division for his service in Malaya. LCpl Bryant also served in Korea with 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR) from 1951-1952.
