Description
Korea. c. 1951. Private Bert Bewley of Enfield, NSW, a member of 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), surveys some shot holes in his windproof jacket after having silenced a Chinese machine gun post with his Bren gun. It was giving trouble to A Company, 3RAR, before Private Bewley, walked up to the post and emptied a Bren magazine into it, killing five of the enemy. He was not wounded, but one enemy bullet went through his trousers and his jacket was punctured by two machine gun bursts.
