Description
Giant British Centurion tanks gave a dramatic display of weight and gun power when they moved in with the spearhead of British Commonwealth troops in the UN October offensive. Here a spotter on the turret of the Centurion crouches ready to call for supporting fire. Chinese troops were demoralised by the sustained battering given to their strong points by the Centurions, which crushed under their massive treads the spots which they did not blow apart. Note the damage to the vegetation on the hillside.
