The bride and groom cut the wedding cake at the reception, after their marriage at the St Peters Garrison Chapel in Kure, Japan. The bride is Miss Kathleen Hall of Malanda, Atherton Tablelands, North Queensland, and the groom, Sergeant Victor Edwards of Ludlow, Shropshire, England. The bride was, until her marriage, a member of the Australian Army Women's Service (AAWS) in Japan. The groom is on service with his regiment, the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry in Japan and Korea.
