At sea. 1 August 1952. Vice Admiral Sir John A. Collins, First Member of the Australian Naval Board, who inspected United Nations Naval Forces in Korean waters, landed on a US Marine held island north of the 38th Parallel off the Korean west coast. Pictured on the landing craft, taking the Admiral from HMAS Bataan to the island are, left to right: Commander W. F. Cook, who accompanied the Admiral on the tour; Major Scarborough, US Marine Corps; Commander Warwick Seymour Bracegirdle, Commander of HMAS Bataan, and Admiral Collins, and two unidentified seamen.
