Weighed down with personal effects and heavy combat clothing, these unidentified Australian soldiers are on the last leg of the long journey from the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), in Korea to the rest and recreation island of Miyajima. They are seen here as they pass the dining room of the centre along the avenue of stone lanterns which leads to a shrine, one of the many on the island.
