The Counter Intelligence Corps and its activities in Australia and New Guinea 1942-1945 / Keith Richmond
The CIC had its origin in the Corps of Intelligence Police set up by US forces in World War I. It was re-established under the new title as of 1 January 1942.
While some suggest that CIC has similarities with the Gestapo or the Japanese Kempeitai, (4) one of the CIC's main preoccupations was the investigation of US troops.
