Publisher Reader's Digest,
Note On the 25th of April each year, Australians and New Zealanders commemorate the Gallipoli landing of 1915, and remember the contribution made by many thousands to that brutal and bloody campaign. The bravery, the devastating loss of so many young men, the suffering and the inspiring mateship continue to touch us all to this day. As a tribute to the Anzacs of the Gallipoli campaign, reader's Digest has created this carefully selected portfolio of 21 prints. It includes recruitment posters calling upon Aus tralians and New Zealanders to join the war effort, paintings of the ill-fated landing, the Gallipoli battlefield, life in the trenches, and the wounded in a hospital ward. Photographs and descriptions of bravery medals awarded during the First World War are also included. The paintings include those by Australian and New Zealand war artists Horace Millichamp Moore-Jones, George Coates and Frank Crozier, all of whom saw active service in the First World War, as well as contemporary artists such as Sidney Nolan and Clifton Pugh for whom the Anzac legend and the Gallipoli campaign became an inspiration.
