Note We acknowledge and pay respects to all traditional owners and custodians of country and the waterways across Australia. We also pay respect to the past and present Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women who have served, to those who served in an auxiliary capacity for the Australian Defence Forces, and to those who gave their lives. Includes Bibliographical references. Indigenous men and women have served in the Australian Armed Forces for a long period of time; out of respect and patriotism for their country. For many, a life in the Defence Force is a tradition, and some of those who serve today are following in the footsteps of their elders, siblings, parents and ancestors. Indigenous Australians place a huge importance on family, so families who serve in the Armed Forces, invariably do so for generations. This book was written and constructed by a Year 10 Hitory c lass at Kildare College, South Australia. The students communicated with members of past and current serving personnel to publish family biographies that highlight their achievements and involvement in the Armed Forces. General.
