Grottaglie, Italy. 1943. Ground crew personnel of No. 3 (Kittyhawk) Squadron RAAF, refuelling a Curtiss P40 Kittyhawk bomber aircraft at an Italian airfield in Italy a few minutes after their arrival at the airfield by American air transport. Refuelling is carried out by aid of hand pumps.
