With this order, Acting Squadron Leader Robert Henry Maxwell (Bobby) Gibbes RAAF, and Commanding Officer of No. 3 (Kittyhawk) Squadron RAAF (centre), led his squadron to attack a superior force of German Junkers JU88 bomber aircraft and Messerschmitt Bf109 fighter aircraft.
