Description
Australian transport drivers with the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR) in Korea, have their problems all the year round. In the winter, frozen road surfaces make driving a hazardous occupation. In the spring the road beds thaw and burst through the track. Now, in the rainy season, roads wash away or disappear beneath the swirling waters of the Imjin River, which can rise 25 feet overnight. Here a driver stands with his hands on his hips and looks at the road disappearing into the Imjin River.
